Gary Roman as Elvis (and as others) at Marlow Legion

The 'fabulous' Gary Roman will be doing his stuff at Marlow Legion, a locally renowned performer, this guarantees to be a great night of music and dancing.

Please obtain your tickets direct from the Legion. They are priced at £7 non RBL members and £5 members.

If you want to eat beforehand at the Marlow Donkey at about 6:30 let me know.

Doors 7pm music around 8:30.

Sunday 26th November

Walk from Taplow

This is a slightly hilly 5 mile walk taking us past Victorian Hitcham House  through Haunts Wood, past the three storey Hitchambury Manor and finally past Taplow Court which has in its grounds the 7th century burial mound of the Saxon chief "Taeppa".

We meet outside the Oak & Saw pub at 10:45 for a prompt 11:00 start.

To get there from Maidenhead take A4 towards Slough after crossing the river take first left, after about 1 mile turn right into Rectory road, pub down here on the right.

To get there from Bourne End/Wooburn follow signs to Cliveden, come past entrance, keep right at fork, follow road for about two and a half miles keeping right at next fork in about half a mile look for left into Rectory road.

Park in free village car park or on the road near the pub.

Sunday 3rd December

Walk from Denham Village

This will be a completely flat walk of about 4 miles taking in a stroll through a golf course, Denham Country Park, and part of the Grand Union Canal, by which we will stop for a cuppa, weather and time permitting.

Directions: take the A40 from Gerrards Cross towards Denham/Uxbridge through Tatling End, then turn left on to the A412 North Orbital Road by the traffic lights(signposted Rickmansworth) then turn right almost immediately into Village Road.(Signposted Denham Village).

Proceed for about a quarter of a mile through the village and park as close as you can to the Church which is on the left.

Meeting place will be by this church.

If you are coming off the M40 or from Iver/Slough turn right onto the A412 from the A40 and then follow the directions above.

Meet at 10:45 for prompt 11:00am start

Music and Dancing to the Big Band 'Soundforce' at Bourne End

Soundforce are an 18 piece big band with vocalists playing the music of the likes of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington as well as more modern arrangers/composers and as its that time of year they will be also playing some festive songs.

Tickets are £12 each and we have booked a table of 8, food not included but you are invited to bring your own picnic for your table.

Please purchase your drinks from the bar though. Starts around 7:30 ends around 10:30 but the cosy lounge bar is open to at least 11.

We have 8 tickets available please book with Pete O. before paying the club promptly; once the 8 are sold you can book via the community centre office direct subject to availability.

Walk from Holmer Green

A 5 mile undulating walk taking in the beautiful village of Little Missenden and surrounding woodland.

From High Wycombe, take the A404 to Amersham, straight over Hazelmere cross roads, down the hill up the other side through the S bend onto straight road. Within ½ mile, take left hand turn into Earl Howe Road to Holmer Green.

Turn right at the cross roads by pond then second left for parking bythe common.

Meet 10:45am for prompt 11:00am start.

Christmas Dinner Dance at Holiday Inn, Maidenhead

The Liaisons Christmas dinner dance is again at the Holiday Inn, Maidenhead, will include a 3 course meal, half a bottle of house wine, Christmas novelties, and disco.

Venue: Holiday Inn, Manor Lane, Maidenhead (off Shoppenhangers Rd).

Arrive from 7:00pm,

Dinner served 7:45pm dancing until 1:00pm.

A walk of approximately 4½ miles. We start at the pub The Falcon,Watery Lane.

There is plenty of parking on the road just down past the pub,

To arrive from Dreams roundabout Loudwater, take A40 towards Beaconsfield, after ¼ mile turn right after Bombay dreams into Watery Lane.

From the green in Wooburn travel toward Wycombe turn right at traffic lights, left at roundabout to Watery lane.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11:00 start.

Christmas Nibbles at The Crooked Billet

Join us at The Crooked Billet, Sheepridge Lane, for a Christmas get together at our pub. Sandwiches and nibbles will be available.

Just turn up, and you could pull a cracker! and maybe a kiss under the mistletoe, the more the merrier.

Music and Dancing at British Legion, Flackwell Heath

If you want a break from Christmas wrapping etc, then come along with Neil Patrick, middle of the road singer.

The Legion is in the centre of the village, on Common Road near the community centre and Sainsbury's, there is some car parking on site but street parking is available.

No ticket event, just turn up, you'll be asked to make a £2 donation on entry. Music at 8:30.

Walk from Flackwell Heath

An undulating 5 mile walk, passing Pigeon House Farm and through Bloom Wood.

We meet behind Budgens, to get there from Marlow / Bourne End turn up Sheepridge Lane past The Crooked Billet to T junction, turn right, then straight over the mini roundabout at village centre, after 100yds turn right into Old Kiln Rd (beside Budgens), then right again.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11:00 am start.

Christmas Day Meal at George and Dragon, Marlow

Alone on Christmas Day?

Aladdin Pantomime Matinee at Maidenhead

We have booked a block of five tickets to see Aladdin at 2pm at the Pearce Suite Theatre at the Magnet Leisure Centre, Holmanleaze, Maidenhead. their phone number: 01628 685333.

Brush off those New Years Days cobwebs with a walk around the Rural side of High Wycombe including the lovely Rye park with its boating lake.

We meet at the free car park by the netball courts on Kingsmead recreation ground opposite the B&Q Diy store.

From the A40 coming from Wycombe turn right into Kings road opposite the Synter car showroom and then left into Fennells Road, the car park is at the end of this road

New Years Day Grub & Games Afternoon at Lindsey's

Come along to my place, and I will provide us with some food (probably chilli & and a veggie alternative) followed by some fun party games - nothing too boisterous there's not enough room!

For those of you going on the walk you can change at mine or go home in between. I will be there from 2pm onwards.

Highclere Castle Visit

I am organising a group visit to the renowned Highclere Castle, of Downton Abbey fame, near Newbury.

The £21 ticket for over 60s includes the garden, castle and Tutankhamen exhibition.

The plan will be to car share there and maybe stop for late brunch/lunch on route.

There is a restaurant on site so if you wanted lunch or a cream tea at £30 a head you need to book ahead.

The afternoon ticket allows early access to the gardens but not to the castle or exhibition until after 1pm.

Simon Goodall (Cliff)and the Bourne Again Shadows at Kenton Theatre

Another chance to see this fabulous act performing all your favourite Cliff and Shadows hits in one nostalgic evening.

They don't look like Cliff and the Shads but they certainly sound like them as you will know if you have seen them before.

We have 7 tickets at £18 each they are front row balcony which is a great view at this lovely old theatre.

Friday 4th May

Weekend at Norton Grange Isle of Wight

16 Single Chalets have been booked for a three night break at the above Warners Resort.

Entertainment includes top tribute to the Temptations from the Temps Experience.

Cost is £150 per person with a non refundable deposit of £50 required at the time of booking to secure your place.
