Walk from Hazlemere Cross Roads near High Wycombe

This is a lovely walk with one hilly section, and some great countryside around Widmer End, Terriers and Great Kingshill.

We meet in the free car park off Beaumont Way, Hazlemere, (just off the High Wycombe - Amersham Road, the A404).

From High Wycombe head on this road going towards Amersham, from Beaconsfield take the Penn Road towards Hazlemere, when you get to the crossroads you will see two petrol stations and a parade of shops from Wycombe turn left, from Penn go straight over, as though heading towards Holmer Green, then turn almost immediately left into Beaumont Way and then sharp left into the car park.

We meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11am start.

Coffee Morning at Boulters Inn, Maidenhead

Join Maggie for coffee and maybe a warm pastry (or something stronger) on the terrace of this lovely pub, which has a beautiful setting overlooking the River Thames.

Afterwards we can stroll over to Ray Mill Island grab a snack or ice cream from the café and maybe watch the boats go through the lock.

Charity Dance Night at Hedsor Club

Just one hill on this 4½ mile walk that promises fine views over Hambledon valley, taking in Rotten Row and the Thames and finishes back up Ferry Lane.

Directions: Take A4155 from Marlow to Henley upon reaching Medmenham turn left down Ferry Lane, just before the Dog and Badger pub, park at top end by the church.

Charity Quiz Night at Bourne End Community Centre

Fancy being part of a Liaisons team taking part in a fun Quiz which could lead to a £500 prize?

Every Autumn, Wycombe Lions run a Quiz competition in aid of local Charities. Heats are held in local pubs and clubs with the the top 2 teams going through to a grand final, at Cressex Community Centre in November with a prize of £500 up for grabs.

Teams of up to 6 are invited to come along to the Community Centre bar for the Bourne End heat Entry is £3 pp and the fun starts at 8:30.

All proceeds to the Lions Charities.

Medieval Night at Adams Park

Drawbridge lowered at 7pm and raised at 11pm

The Caledonian Suite Adams Park Hillbottom Road High Wycombe Knights and Ladies by decree you are invited to enjoy a night of merriment and jollity.

The Court Chamberlain will guide you through an evening of fun and jollity with the help of a medieval herald and the serfs from Dudley Manor. Comedy maidens and knaves will entertain you throughout the feast.

Annual Poppy Fund Dance at Marlow Legion

All funds in aid of the poppy appeal.

Dance the night away to the Flashback Band, a five piece outfit playing Swing and Rock and Roll hits from the 40s and 50s. Boogie to the music of amongst others, Little Richard, Glenn Miller, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Andrews Sisters.

Walk from Little Missenden

This is a walk of approximately 5 miles taking in Little Missenden and Amersham.

Little Missenden can be found off the A413 between Amersham and Great Missenden. On leaving High Wycombe take the A404 towards Amersham, turn left at the A413.

At the next roundabout keep straight on, after about ½ mile take the slip road on the left signposted Little Missenden, follow this road until you reach the Red Lion pub on your right. Park on the road near the pub.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11:00 start.

Walk from Penn Pond, Penn Village near High Wycombe

This is a 4 mile walk through fields and woodland going down to Penn Bottom, a lovely part of Bucks. Penn is a village about 5 miles from both Beaconsfield and High Wycombe.

We meet by Penn Pond which is opposite the Red Lion Pub, Penn on the Penn/Beaconsfield Road.

From Beaconsfield take the Penn Road B 474 through the New town, from High Wycombe/Hazlemere also take the B474 Penn Road, if coming from High Wycombe on the A404 turn right at Hazlemere Cross Roads onto that road.

Walk from Great Missenden

This is an undulating ridge walk with great views and a few stiles with the unforgettable steep hill at the beginning; once you have ascended this hill the rest will be easy.

Please meet at the Link Road car park Great Missenden, HP16 9AE ; from the Great Missenden A413 bypass from Amersham there is a stretch of dual carriageway; after the dual carriageway you will pass the Deep Mill Diner on your left; drive under a railway bridge and ignore the first left turn to Great Missenden probably signposted to the Chiltern Hospital; drive over the first roundabout about a mile hence and then take the left exit at the immediate next roundabout; this is signposted Great Missenden and you are on the Link Road where you will see two opposite car parks; it doesn't much matter which you park in but I will try to be in the one on the right as it is our walk start.

There is no parking charge on a Sunday.

Please be there no later than 10:45 for an 11:00am start.

Remember the earlier you are the easier it is to park

Walk from Taplow

This is a slightly hilly 5 mile walk taking us past Victorian Hitcham House  through Haunts Wood, past the three storey Hitchambury Manor and finally past Taplow Court which has in its grounds the 7th century burial mound of the Saxon chief “Taeppa”.

We meet outside the Oak & Saw pub at 10:45 for a prompt 11:00 start.

To get there from Maidenhead take A4 towards Slough after crossing the river take first left, after about 1 mile turn right into Rectory road, pub down here on the right.

To get there from Bourne End/Wooburn follow signs to Cliveden, come past entrance, keep right at fork, follow road for about two and a half miles keeping right at next fork in about half a mile look for left into Rectory road.

Park in free village car park or on the road near the pub.

The Liaisons Christmas dinner dance is again at the Holiday Inn, Maidenhead, will include a 3 course meal, half a bottle of house wine, Christmas novelties, and disco.
