Saturday / Sunday July 20th & 21st Maidenhead Festival at Kidwells Park

The 2019 two-day Maidenhead Festival will take place over the weekend of 20th & 21st July.

The family-focused event will feature music, a beach, fairground, stalls and side shows and if you're lucky you might spot a friendly clown or acrobat!

The festival will be centred around Kidwells Park but aims to involve the whole of the town and local community.

Admission is free over the weekend. Charges will apply to refreshments and some activities; do bring a chair.

Saturday 20th July Company's Summer Ball at St Michaels Church Hall, Amersham

Amersham singles club Company have again invited Liaisons to their annual Summer Ball at St Michaels Church, 70 Sycamore Rd, Amersham. Glass of Bubbly on arrival, 2 course Dinner served with wine.

This is a black tie event.

Dance the night away to Live Music of Logo with their resident singer Clare.

Approx 5 mile walk towards Horseley Green. Meet in the slip road outside The Dashwood Arms, which can be found off the A40 after leaving West Wycombe towards Stokenchurch.

Sunday 21st July Car Treasure Hunt from The Bell and Bottle, Bath Road, Maidenhead

A treasure hunt thro Berkshire lanes - hunting for clues and ending up at a secret Berkshire rural pub for early supper.

Spare cars may be left at the Bell and Bottle.

Timed departures from 3:00pm.

Preferably 4 people per car. Please offer your spare seats to other Liaisons members or if you need a seat contact Nina.

Choice of food cod/chicken/veggie burger plus chips and peas. Pud of brownie and cream/ice cream. £13.

Saturday 27th July Ascot Races by Coach from the Crooked Billet

Bill and Anita Green landlords of the Crooked Billet have invited Liaisons members to join them on their trip to Ascot Races.

A coach will take us to Ascot at 10:15am and return after the last race, arriving back at approx 7:30pm. The cost will be approximately £55 which includes coach travel and entrance to the Premier Enclosure.

There are restaurants and bars in the grounds.

Bar meals can be purchased at the Crooked Billet on our return.

The evening entertainment will be provided by 'Lazy Days' on the patio, so lets boogie at the Billet. Dress Code: Gentlemen are required to wear jackets and ties in the enclosure, whilst for ladies hats are not compulsory but recommended for the day.

This is a walk of approximately 5 miles with two hills, taking in the villages of Saunderton and Horsenden. Bledlow can be approached from the B4009 along West Lane between Princes Risborough and Chinnor.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11am start in the Lions public house car park, which is situated behind the pub.

Several of us went along to this really interesting open air talk and walk last year..and learned a lot about trees and woodlands in general.

This is the 30th. Anniversary of SGI - UK ( the Buddhist Centre).

Mike will be be attending, should anyone be interested in joining him. The house is on the site of a 17th. C Manor House whilst the church was in ruins by 1853. not too familiar with the significance of this place, the burial mound of a Saxon king was built on top of a scarp in the early 7th. C, but the site has been in occupation since the Bronze Age!

Finds that were made are regarded as important as those made at Sutton Hoo.

Views from the rear garden stretch from Maidenhead in the west to Windsor in the East!

There is an excellent cafe & outdoor picnic area.

Monday 5th August Jazz Evening at the Jolly Woodman

Nina invites you to join her for an enjoyable evening at the Jolly Woodman, Littleworth Common, Burnham. listening to the entertaining Dixieland Swing Kings Jazz Band.

A cracking band of ex professionals with Dave the drummer ending the evening with some humorous anecdotes.

Saturday 10th August  Food and Music at "The Drawing Room" Licensed Cafe in Chesham

A new event from a new member.

Enjoy a vegan light supper Al Fresco (a selection of Tapas and Meze) in their courtyard as well as live and original music at this unique venue just behind Chesham High Street all for £20 !

10 places are available on our table which has a large umbrella in case of poor weather.

It's back!

he 3 previous quizzes have raised a total of over £3000. Your host and Quizmaster will be Pete Oxbrow aided as ever by his able helpers Mandy and Marie.

Good quizzing not essential but the ability to have a fun night is.

This is open to everyone so either bring you own team of friends/relatives or just put your name down and you will be in a Liaisons Team.
